Once upon a time there was a small but influential village in the middle of the continent of Minotopia. The region was blessed or cursed with the magic of "pipo". Pipo magic made all sorts of wonderful things possible in very short periods of time. However, this tended to make the inhabitants lazy and avoid hard work. Working hard seemed not to be a good idea since it often did not pay off as well as just using the pipo incantations.
